Privacy Policy
This policy explains what StrategyTake collects, how it is used, and how subscribers can manage their information.
1. Information We Collect
StrategyTake collects information you provide directly, including your email address when you subscribe, contact details you include when you email us, subscription status, newsletter preferences, and any feedback or replies you choose to send.
For paid subscriptions, payment details are collected and processed by Paddle. StrategyTake does not receive or store your full card number. We may receive billing-related information from Paddle, such as customer ID, subscription ID, transaction status, plan, renewal status, country or tax region, and limited contact details needed to manage access.
Ghost(Pro), our newsletter and membership platform, may process subscriber data such as email address, member status, tags, email delivery status, opens, clicks, and unsubscribe preferences.
2. How We Use Information
We use subscriber information to deliver free and paid newsletter issues, manage memberships, provide paid access, process subscription status, send account or service messages, respond to support requests, improve content, prevent abuse, and comply with legal, tax, accounting, or payment obligations.
3. Third-Party Processors
StrategyTake uses trusted third-party service providers to operate the newsletter business. These include:
- Ghost(Pro): newsletter publishing, email delivery, subscriber management, and member access.
- Paddle: checkout, recurring card billing, subscription management, invoices, tax calculation, payment processing, fraud prevention, and payment-related customer support.
- Vercel: website hosting and serverless infrastructure for the public signup page and related routes.
These providers process information only as needed to provide their services, meet legal obligations, secure their systems, and support StrategyTake's operations.
4. Emails and Unsubscribing
You can unsubscribe from marketing or newsletter emails using the unsubscribe link in Ghost-delivered emails. Service emails related to billing, account status, payments, cancellations, or legal notices may still be sent when necessary.
5. Cookies and Analytics
The website may use essential cookies or similar technologies required for hosting, checkout, security, and newsletter functionality. Paddle and Ghost may use cookies or similar technologies during checkout, account access, email tracking, fraud prevention, and subscription management.
6. Legal Bases Where Required
Where privacy law requires a legal basis, StrategyTake processes information to perform a contract with subscribers, pursue legitimate interests such as operating and improving the newsletter, comply with legal obligations, and, where applicable, based on consent for optional communications or tracking.
7. Data Retention
We keep subscriber information for as long as needed to operate the newsletter, maintain records, provide support, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. If you unsubscribe or cancel, we may retain limited records where necessary for billing, compliance, suppression lists, and fraud prevention.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain uses of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To make a request, email hello@strategytake.com.
9. International Processing
StrategyTake, Ghost, Paddle, Vercel, and related providers may process information in countries other than where you live. We rely on the safeguards provided by those processors and applicable law for international transfers.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and operational safeguards appropriate for a small digital subscription business. No internet service can be guaranteed perfectly secure, so subscribers should also protect their own email account and payment credentials.
11. Children's Privacy
StrategyTake is intended for business readers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the service, processors, or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when changes are made.
13. Contact
Questions or privacy requests can be sent to hello@strategytake.com.
This policy is business-ready website copy, not legal advice. StrategyTake should have counsel review it for the final legal entity, jurisdiction, and applicable privacy regimes.
